NZFW: Lastnight at Stolen Girlfriends Club

The collection that SGC sent down the runway lastnight was probably my favourite collection of theirs to date. The menswear as usual was very edgy, cool and experimental. True to SGC style, denim and checks played a major factor is the menswear collection. One thing I do admire about SGC's menswear is that they are never scared to use fabrics that aren't traditionally used in menswear - this collection the exciting fabric being faux leopard fur.

The women's collection turned heads with it's 1980's inspired 'prom dresses'. To be honest, I don't see myself sporting one of those babies anytime soon, however the rest of the womenswear collection was probably one of their most wearable to date. The only issue I have with SGC is that sometimes I feel that only models would be able to pull off their edgy designs. However this collection included more pieces that I feel will be more figure friendly to those of us that aren't models. All in all, I'm impressed. Good job SGC!

NZFW: Day Two - Annah Stretton

This collection is what I would call lady-like chic. It's just so pretty! Once again, Stretton's use of texture's such as velvet and lace is impressive and unique. I love, love, love the white pussy bow blouse and the short sleeve yellow blouse. The concept of the show for me though, was what really impressed me. The living doll concept was executed perfectly, with the models made up to look like dolls, however the living part was highlighted by small things such as the flyaways from the models hair. More designers should do concept shows like this. It's just so fun! Good job Annah Stretton!

All in all, NZFW has been amazing so far. I wonder what tomorrow will bring...

NZFW: Day Two - Hailwood

The Hailwood show for me was a big WOW. I would gladly sell my soul for any of the amazing pieces that walked down the runway today. I honestly just cannot find any fault with this collection! Once again their use of black was stunning, and the textures in this collection in particular were stunning. Hailwood's use of fringing, satin and those little bobbles thingies (what are the called?) really made this collection for me. According to reviews, this was a crowd favourite and it's easy to see why. Oh, and the shoes! Amazing!

Yay! Can't wait for tomorrow. So, so exciting!

NZFW: Day Two - Blak Luxe

The Blak show in one word was 'moody'. The collection that walked down the runway at Blak's show today just screamed angry, hormonal teenage girl (in the best possible way!). Blak's use of well... black, was enough to make my heart flutter with joy! (In case you're not aware I'm one of those 'I'll wear any colour, as long as it's black' people). I have a feeling that this collection is going to retail really well, due to it's wear-ability and the fact that it focuses more on using simple colours opposed to the brights that we've seen popping up everywhere else lately.

NZFW: Day Two - Ingrid Starnes

My, oh, my! New Zealand fashion week sure started off with a bang today. The first show of the day was newbie Ingrid Starnes. The best way to sum up the show would probably be short and sweet. Well very, very sweet actually. The models walked in classy yet feminine designs with a vintage tinge. The collection didn't veer much from what we've seen from Starnes in recent seasons, however the colour palette was quite different to what we've seen from Starnes previously. One thing I cannot get over is the shoes! Amazing! In terms of the collection, my favourites would have to be the high waisted knicker and bra combo, and the little navy jumpsuit.
