NYFW: Karen Walker S '12 - 'The American Girl'

Karen's Walker's Spring '12 collection (appropriately named 'The American Girl'), wowed New York Fashion Week goer's in a big way, with fans dubbing it 'marvellous'. There is no doubt that KW has produced another beautiful collection that many can't wait to get their hands on (including myself!).

Looking at the collection, I fail to describe it in any other way than typically Karen. With beautifully tailored blazers, chinos and statement prints it follows KW's tried and tested design techniques with great success; However I can't help but feel that this collection is slightly more mature than past collections - in a good way! Not in a middle aged sort of way... Eerr.

The thing I like about Karen Walker is that each collection flows from one to the next with-out anything too dramatic that loyal fans can't handle. If that makes sense? I'm not saying that her designs are safe and always the same by any means, however I like the fact that each collection builds on the last and nothing is ever really random - instead it's often something built off the back of a garment from a previous season. It's sort of like an organic evolution. Slightly more natural than other designers processes possibly. Hmm. Ramble!

Karen, I heart you!

Yani B

This girl probably has one of the most stunning faces I've ever seen! Thank you Fashion Westie for bringing her into my life. Yani is new on the modeling scene but with a face like this, I know she will do well.

Huffer Campaign: Coming Attraction

Does anybody else think that the new Huffer campaign is totally rad? It makes me happy in all sorts of ways!

On similar topics, Huffer's women's wear has really stepped up this season. It still follows the same simplistic style that Huffer collections are known for, however it just has a little more va va vooomm than their past women's wear collections. If that makes sense! If you don't believe me, click here to see for yourself.

Night Owl

It's 2am on Sunday morning! Why am I still awake, you may ask? Well I got carried away with arranging my room and then started looking on 'pretty bedroom' websites for a bit of inspiration - so addictive!

When I finally get to sleep, and then wake up at a more reasonable Sunday morning time, I am going to make a beeline for spotlight to get a few supplies for my DIY bedroom makeover. Very exciting! Hopefully I'll still be as keen on the idea when I wake up as I am now. I found this cute picture on Off Hour. It actually made me a wee bit hungry. Better go to sleep so I can wake up and have brekky! Goodnight!

P.S I feel like I haven't blogged about fashion all week really, which is a bit strange for me. I guess I've just been getting inspired by other creative areas. I promise a post about fashion soon!

Free gift tags by Eat Drink Chic

Somehow I've only JUST discovered the amazing blog Eat Drink Chic. I seriously feel like I've been missing out BIG TIME. Thankfully, I stumbled across it today while in search of images of homemade jam in jars (more on that in a later post!).

Basically, Amy Ross is a Melbourne based graphic artist turned professional blogger, who styles events and makes cute little cards, gift tags, labels etc. for her readers to use free of charge. If you've never visited her blog I recommend it strongly. The stuff she does is actually just mind-blowingly amazing. Seriously, she is just one crafty lady!

I love these cute little gift tags that she designed. I suppose they could be used for any occasion really, and the best thing is they're free! Click here to download the gift tags. All you have to do is choose your paper/ card and print them! Easy peasy. I'm thinking I might print them on thin brown card to make them a bit 'craftier'. Hmmm... Sooo cool!
Happy weekend everybody!

Casper and Pearl

Currently, I have a major crush on Claire Alice Young's recent shoot for Casper and Pearl. I will never, ever tire of cute girly dresses, frills and floral headbands.
