Lonely Hearts Summer 2012

I feel like I haven't blogged about a collection in forever! Apologies for that, travel really has been taking over my mind lately.

Any who, I absolutely love Lonely Hearts summer 2012 collection! I love the subdued and calming colour palette and the drapey, loose fit of the garments - but most of all I love the versatility of these pieces.

If you know anything about my sense of style, you'll know that I hate clothing that can only be worn on certain occasions! I find it so frustrating and restricting. However, this collection has definitely been designed with the casual yet glamorous elements of summer in mind. Can't you just imagine slipping on one of these pretty dresses over a bikini, and then wearing to it a party that same night? I sure can!

Lonely Hearts, you have done it again! LOVEEEEE!

Ambit SS 11/12

There's something about this collection that just makes me so, so happy! It could be the beautiful simplistic style, or possibly those amazing grey shorts! Whatever it is, I just love it. I only wish that there was more to this collection from the young New York based label. For more of Ambit see here. I have a feeling we will be seeing more goodness from this young label in the near future.

DW by Kanye West: PFW S/S 2012

Yes, It's official! Mr West debuted his first womenswear collection at PFW the other day. From what I can gather, there's been a lot of negative feedback in the media regarding this collection, which is unfortunate. I think when celebrity's decide that they're going to try there hand at design, a lot of people tend to turn their nose up because they just assume the collection is going to be a wee bit crap, and don't really give it a proper look before they judge it.

Despite all of this, I think Kanye has done well with this one - however it really does show that it is his first collection. It just seems to be a bit all over the place and not as polished as I would have liked to see, but aside from this, I definitely think the ideas are there. I look forward to seeing how his new label improves with time. I have a feeling that the second collection will be a lot better. Fingers crossed!

Jesse Kamm SS 12 - Sail

I probably should have warned you at the start that there were going to be a lot of pictures in this post... oops. Oh well, now I've tricked you into having a proper look instead of just skimming over them. But seriously, I'm pretty sure you must be thinking that it was worth looking at them all right now, because this collection is super amazing!

The inspiration behind it is pretty self explanatory - as the title of the collection states, these are clothes inspired by sailing. I very much like how casual this collection is, and how most pieces in the collection have been designed to not need any fussy accessories, shoes, massive fur coats etc. etc. These are pieces that can be thrown on without much thought, however the wearer will manage to still look completely amazing and chic. These are my kind of clothes!

Karen Walker: North

Karen Walker has done it again with her S/S 2011 collection entitled 'North'. I find this collection so awkwardly charming! I love the unique prints that are used in this collection - they're so fun and original; A welcomed break from the seemingly basic palettes that have ruled the runway recently.

This collection follows the typical KW format, being made up of beautifully made pieces that are so far from typical fashion that they become effortlessly cool. The thing I love most about Karen Walker's collections is that they are truly unlike anything else around. There's something so unique about what Karen Walker does and I really can't get enough of it!

I'm definitely going to start saving my pennies now so that I can be the first to get these pieces when they hit boutiques around the world.
