My top five fashionable sick day finds

Having been home sick for the past few days, I have come to realise one thing - the worse I look, the worse I start to feel! I'll be the first to admit that when sick, trying to look good is probably the last thing on my mind, however in my opinion, anything that is going to make me feel even the teeniest bit better when sick is worthwhile.

With a lack of anything better to do, I've spent all afternoon scouring the web for my five favourite fashionable sick-day finds. I've chosen these items with three things is mind; warmth, comfort and cuteness.

1. Peter Alexander Beanie: It just looks too snugly to resist! Perfect for covering up bad sick-day hair, and keeping your head nice and warm.
2. Peter Alexander Bow Slippers: The cutest little slippers I've seen in awhile! I love the fact that these could almost pass as shoes, however the micro suede inner ensures that your feet will be super comfortable.
3. net-a-porter Harem pants: Harem pants are well known for being comfortable chic. I love the colour of these ones.
4. Topshop knitted shorts: I am absolutely in love with these! They're probably not warm enough to wear during winter sick-days, but perfect for a little added warmth during a spring flu.
5. Topshop knitted cardigan: The classic sick-day cardigan with a fashionable twist - guaranteed to keep you cozy.

Harley Viera-Newton for No Magazine

Until I recently moved to a house where I'm not allowed to stick things on the walls, i had this editorial on my wall for about two years. It's from No Magazines fourth edition and despite it being a little old, I still love it as much as I did when I first saw it.

Having had it on my wall for so long, I managed to come to the conclusion that the last image is my favourite (most likely because it features the amazing Karen Walker leopard print top that I've been obsessed with for about two years).

This is also the editorial that influenced my love for model, Harley Viera-Newton. If you haven't seen her work, you must! She's amazing. I haven't been able to find a website for her, but she features on plenty of blogs. Just a simple google search should do it.

Monday's must have: Willowy dress by Moochi

One of the main things I think about whenever buying a piece, is how versatile it will be. I hate buying things that will only ever be able to be worn in one way because I know I will get bored with the piece really fast. So when I discovered the 'Willowy dress' by Moochi I was pretty excited.

This super-cute dress caught my eye for the fact that it's casual enough to wear during the day with flats, but at the same time the chiffon makes it suitable to wear at night with opaque tights and your favourite heels. It comes in the three cute colours pictured above, and in two lengths (mini and maxi). My pick would be the navy blue mini version, but i would definitely not say no to any of the other variations of the Willowy dress.

Check out the Willowy dress and other cute numbers from Moochi dress week 2011 at the Moochi website.

Alexa Chung at Glastonbury 2011

While we're on the subject of the recent Glastonbury festival, I thought I'd share these pictures of the beautiful Alexa Chung at the festival the other day. I love everything about Alexa Chung's style at the festival, but my favourite is the fourth look - loving the hat! Very inspiring indeed.

What to wear this weekend: Hunter boots

Go Glastonbury this weekend by rocking a pair of Hunter boots. Hunter is the worlds favourite brand of wellingtons, famously seen at the Glastonbury festival every year. These babies are emerging as one of winters hottest (and most practical!) trends. For inspiration on how to wear Hunter's, look to Kate Moss and Ashley Olsen.

Although durable, Hunter's can be a wee bit on the expensive side. If you're not willing to fork out a few hundred, check out ASOS for some cheaper (and just as cute!) alternatives. Yay!

Happy Saturday!

Styling by Imogen Wilson

Imogen Wilson is one of my favourite up and coming New Zealand stylists. At the tender age of eighteen, Imogen has already styled for dozens of super cool publications such as Vice, Cake Magazine, and Youth and Freedom.

The editorial above is Imogen for Youth and Freedom Magazine. The thing I love most about this editorial is how quirky and fun it is. To me, it is reminiscent of a classic New Zealand summer (my grandparents actually had a caravan just like the ones featured in this editorial and I remember going away in it when I was little!).

For more of Imogen check our her blog - she is definetly one to watch!
