What to do this weekend: Visit the Ruby Boutique sale

The best thing about the fact that fashion is always so ahead of itself, is that winter pieces go on sale just as winter starts to get seriously cold! This weekend I strongly recommend visiting the beautiful Ruby Boutique sale for some amazing bargains (either in person or at the online store here).

Above are some of my favourite pieces from the sale. Ruby's selection of winter coats in particular are to die for! I plan to go in tomorrow and score myself a few winter bargains. Yay for sales! I'll let you know what I get!

Emma Watson for Vogue

Harry Potter fans, eat your hearts out! Emma Watson looks as beautiful as ever in this months edition of Vogue wearing some amazing pieces from Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Calvin Klein and Dolce and Gabbana (among many others).

I seriously find it hard to believe that this beautiful young woman is the same frizzy haired, awkward little girl from the Philosophers stone! She definitely has grown up quite a bit - and thank goodness she got that hair sorted out! The short hair looks amazing.

Inspiration Thursday: The street

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. Fashion is everywhere.” - Coco Chanel

S/S 2011: Tangerine Dream

Hello tangerine! Welcome back. Oh how I have missed you! Yes, you heard right - tangy tangerine is making a comeback this spring in a BIG way. Tangerine has been spotted on the runway of almost every major designer and has been used for everything from jump-suits, to blazers to bags.

I absolutely love the idea of head to toe tangerine (not sure if I will be brave enough to pull it off though!) in the form of a jumpsuit or a matching blazer and shorts. For those who are a little colour shy, try tangerine accessories, lips or nails to add instant youth and vitality to any outfit.

After so many seasons dominated by neutrals, a touch of tangerine is just what the doctor called for. Yay!

Chain-store Chic: BBB

Introducing my newest purchase, the BBB (big black bag). I scored this baby for a teeny $40 (can you believe it!) and in the short three days I have had it, it has literally changed my life... sort of. Well at least made my life a lot easier!

It pretty much fits everything I will ever need in it, and the best thing about it is that when I go for a wee look around the shops on my lunch break and come back with yet another purchase, I can avoid getting disapproving looks from my workmates by simply hiding my new pants/ blouse/ dress/ smaller bag in my BBB! Hooray!

Although it's no Louis Vuitton, for $40 I'm pretty darn happy. This beauty should get me through the winter just fine. Hooray for chain-store chic!

P.S My interior mission on Saturday went well but took me agessss. I had some friends over on saturday night and my new creative bedroom design was met with ohhssss and ahhhssss (well actually just a round of 'looks cool'... but close enough). Will post pictures soon.

Karen Walker: North

Karen Walker has done it again with her S/S 2011 collection entitled 'North'. I find this collection so awkwardly charming! I love the unique prints that are used in this collection - they're so fun and original; A welcomed break from the seemingly basic palettes that have ruled the runway recently.

This collection follows the typical KW format, being made up of beautifully made pieces that are so far from typical fashion that they become effortlessly cool. The thing I love most about Karen Walker's collections is that they are truly unlike anything else around. There's something so unique about what Karen Walker does and I really can't get enough of it!

I'm definitely going to start saving my pennies now so that I can be the first to get these pieces when they hit boutiques around the world.

What to do this weekend: Experiment with turning your clothes into an interior statement

So basically I've decided that I need an extra bedroom for my clothes/ a Sex and the City size wardrobe. A normal wardrobe just isn't cutting it for me anymore, and I have reached the unfortunate stage where I have to throw away a piece every-time I but a new one - simply because I don't have room for anything new in my wardrobe. Big sad face!

However I've come up with a great idea to combat this problem - turn the clothes that I don't have room for into an interior statement! I love the idea of hanging pieces from the wall off coat hangers, as if to be a piece of art.

This could very well be the perfect solution to my problems. I will spend the rest of the day experimenting and let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed that I can create a fashionable interior masterpiece like the inspiring images above!
