Ellery at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week

These pictures were taken at RAFW last month at Ellery's S/S 2011 show. I only just stumbled across them today and loved them so much I had to share them with you all. I love the neutral palette that they've chosen for this collection, however the metallics they've used keep it from being too safe and boring. Ellery is definitely one to watch in the coming seasons!

Pastel makeup takes over

Much to the delight of most of the fashion world, pastel toned makeup is set to be the key makeup trend for Spring/ Summer 2011. Glimpses of what is to come are already starting to pop up. Bright eyes and matte lips appear to be the icing on the cake for many recent winter editorials, complimenting current season colours and fabrics beautifully.

Reds, pinks, blues, golds and greens are all go for the upcoming season and this is starting to be seen in many high street makeup brands. My favourite so far is Revlon's collection of matte lipstick. Colours in this collection range from soft pinks to bright reds and oranges. No matter what colour you choose from this collection it's basically going to be super amazing and have really, really long lasting wear (hooray!). ($23 from all good Revlon stockists).

Start experimenting with pastel tones now. This pretty palette will brighten up even the most dreary winter day! Start now and by the time spring comes you'll have the look well and truly perfected!

And remember: When in doubt, look to the M.A.C online store. (Your new motto!).

Heavy Metal by Stolen Girlfriends Club

Metallics... My oh My

Chloe Resort 2011

Ruby A/W 2011 'Bianca Dress' in FQ

It's official, metallics are making a comeback! They've been seen popping up all over the runway recently and are scheduled to make a big appearance on the fashion scene over the next few seasons. My favourite metallic beauties so far come from Chloe Resort and Ruby (as pictured above). Start looking around for your own metallic pieces and get ahead of the fashion pack by incorporating them into your winter look.

I like, I like!

Henry Holland teams up with Le Specs

Henry Holland

British designer Henry Holland has teamed up with iconic Australian sunglass brand, Le Specs, to create a collaborative range of sunglasses. Exciting news, or what!

Holland gained fame a few years back through his fashion label , House of Holland, and his much publicised friendship with fashion icon Agyness Deyn. Holland's label is well known for producing 80's inspired T-shirts with risky catch phrases such as the infamous 'I'll show you who's boss Kate Moss'.

The collaborative collection is due out in September this year (just in time for the sun!) and will be available in selected stores for a teeny tiny $89.90 a pair. Although nobody quite knows what to expect from this collaboration there are rumors of floral prints and metallics being a key player is many of the designs; in line with what House of Holland has been producing recently.

Yen magazine is a must-read

The latest issue of Yen magazine

Australian Magazine, Yen, has been around for a good few years and is well known over the ditch for being one of the coolest quarterly glossies around. Over the past few issues the team at Yen have made a few changes, particularly in the design of the magazine; and now Yen is looking better than ever!

The cover of the latest issue (as seen above) caught my eye the other day (loveee the lipstick!), and since then I have been obsessing over how great Yen has become! The newest issue of Yen is themed around winter fashion and features some seriously cool editorials that have been styled by some of Australia's top stylists. Yen is great because it has a unique fashion point of view that is super refreshing for those of us who are sick to death of mindless trends being the only thing featured in fashion magazines.

Yen is available at all good news agents for $9.90. I strongly recommend that you go out and buy it, and when you do, read the article on page 42 -it's mind-blowing!

Happy reading!
