Hunky Dory

So first of all, I must say a VERY large sorry to you all for being missing in action for the past month. My travels have recently taken me to Melbourne, the beautiful vineyards of Victoria and the Great Ocean Road (which was pretty darn great by the way!).

In six hours exactly, I'm off to the airport to get on a plane, and neverrrrr come back! And by 'never' I mean five months. But seriously, in my mind it pretty much seems like a lifetime before I will be back.

Over the past few weeks I've been playing with my fish eye camera, taking snaps here, there and everywhere, and documenting my last few weeks in the country. There really is nothing like the magic of fish eye. I'm getting a wee bit emotional even thinking about not seeing the good looking people in these photos for so long! Ahh, must go to bed before I turn into a blubbering mess!

DIY Peter Pan collar

Make this! Seriously, it's so easy, why would you not! Not to mention very cute and very chic. Can anybody say Louis Vuitton? Thank you to Honestly WTF for bringing this DIY project into my life and helping to distract me from actually doing all of the boring stuff that i should be doing. Lovee!

You will need:

Two scalloped edged pieces cut from white felt or rubber flannel (template here)

A single hole punch

One yard of white ribbon

A needle and thread

Hot glue gun

Button

1.Using the pattern template, cut out the two collar pieces. Create small holes between each scallop, using the hole punch.

2.Overlap the two wider end pieces and push a button through the last two aligning holes. Sew the button in place from the backside.

3.Cut the ribbon into two half-yard lengths. Thread the ribbon through the last hole on the tapered end, place a drop of glue at the tip, and fold it closed.

4. Wrap the collar around your neck and tie it into a bow.

Toes + Fingers + Ruby = Summer

Soo, it may have only been like 14 degrees in Wellington today, but who the heck cares when you have these amazing shades of Ruby nail polish on your toots and fingers! These beautiful shades scream summer through and through, and make me feel like diving into the ocean or something along those summery lines... Yes! Here's hoping that wearing as pretty shade of Ruby polish will encourage the summer sun to come out of his sleepy slumber!

Lonely Hearts Summer 2012

I feel like I haven't blogged about a collection in forever! Apologies for that, travel really has been taking over my mind lately.

Any who, I absolutely love Lonely Hearts summer 2012 collection! I love the subdued and calming colour palette and the drapey, loose fit of the garments - but most of all I love the versatility of these pieces.

If you know anything about my sense of style, you'll know that I hate clothing that can only be worn on certain occasions! I find it so frustrating and restricting. However, this collection has definitely been designed with the casual yet glamorous elements of summer in mind. Can't you just imagine slipping on one of these pretty dresses over a bikini, and then wearing to it a party that same night? I sure can!

A sad day for cat-kind

My beautiful kitty cat, Jaygey, was sadly put to sleep this afternoon after a short period of illness. She was seriously the cutest cat ever with the kindest nature and will be greatly missed. A very sad day for the kitty cat race.
